These works get my blood racing - there is something a bit Egon Scheile about them, a bit Degas, a bit Bacon. I’m in love with them.

How would you describe your style/aesthetic?
I am uneasy with the word style, however I will say that I approach my work in certain ways. With portraiture, it is important for me to record the aura, and yet still show a likeness to the physical aspects that people are familiar with. This sometimes can lead to creating order out of chaos, which I love… And with my figurative work, I have been using the body as a tool for working out equations in my head. I am trying to explore various dimensions and the negative space; I enjoy what a painting says in its empty spaces. And there is a lot going on in the negative space of my work, although I’m not sure if anyone else can see it
