“Self Portrait Suspended”, Sam Taylor Wood (2004-2005)

One of my favorite photographers, Sam Taylor Wood (whose work I first saw at the Frieze Art Fair in Fall 2004 as part of the White Cube booth), shot the recent ad campaign for Bottega Veneta. I remember glancing at this ad before and recognizing the setting (Wood’s studio) but I couldn’t quite place it.

Thanks to an article in today’s NYTimes on Tomas Maier, creative director @ BV, it all became clear.
