Brief piece on Oslo’s plans to create a cultural hub bty relocating museums and private collections to a central location near the harbour (close to the new National Opera House).

I’m sure we’ll be reading more about this as urban planners reveal more details, schematic designs and renderings of the new musuems are released to the public, and the inevitable backlash of local public opinion starts to rise to conversations surrounding preservation of exisiting structure.

I’m not sure where I fall on this - I’m not familiar enough with Oslo to know how this will affect the layout of a city - but I do wonder —— is the relocation of a cultural elements into one central hub a good idea? or should culture be spread throughout a city?

Something to think about.
