Frank Gehry Is Out as Architect of Theater Project in Brooklyn - NYTimes.com

It’s hard to tell from this article what really happened on the Theatre for a New Audience project in NYC. Gehry & H3 (Hugh Hardy) were signed on as joint architects - but an annoucement came through last Thursday that Hugh Hardy would be working as the sole architect due to Gehry’s busy schedule.

This article says that Gehry was clueless.

Hard to imagine that it slipped Gehry’s mind that he’d withdrawn from the project - but also odd that the Theatre could provide written correspondance to the contrary.

Anyway, this is all to say that the Theatre for a New Audience project is projected for Spring 2009 completion and Hardy will be handling the architectural vision for the space.

Perhaps there will be a follow-up piece to this next week when more information comes out.
