Personal success often begins with someone knowing that victory is a possibility.

Read this post by Matthew Kay on “Lesson Plans” a blog on the NYT website. He recalls a day @ the Franklin Institute when Cornel West (author of ‘Race Matters’ among others…) spoke @ the Institutes “Politics of Slavery and Race in America” event.

Really the post is about how education really has to occur outside the classroom as well and that students are in need of mentors - to show them and be physical manifestations of dreams for students.

Everyone needs mentors at every stage of their life showing the possibility of realizing dreams.
