Really interesting interviews with the BAC’s Executive Director Stanford Makishi at WNYC’s blog discussing topics such as fundraising for a capital campaign during an economic downturn (I feel his pain daily!), the future and model for performing arts centers, and how to effectively manage a PAC during this tough time (without sacrificing the art).

There’s a great profile on Stanford Makishi in the NYT - how he was introduced to dance, his own career as an artist, as well as his transition into the management side (as well as an early foray in publishing post-Harvard).

More on the Baryshnikov Arts Center here.

I should also add all of this comes from the extremely good news that BAC has closed on its space in the 37 ARTS building in NY.
