Bloomberg covered today the Met’s new initiative to bolster ticket sales…. they’re offering a select number of tickets in the priciest seats for just $25 if you enter the lottery.

Basically, enter Monday, they draw names on Tuesday, and purchase the tickets by Wednesday and that weekend you could be in prime seats for whatever peformance is on.

This is really great thinking during times of economic recession. Fill your seats (maybe with people who wouldn’t normally even attend performances @ the Met), enliven the house, enliven the community, and get some good press out of it too.
